Shrestha Lab

We are a team of individuals deeply interested in understanding the causal role of protein synthesis dynamics in functionally coherent cell populations during innate and learned emotional behaviors. We apply a multidisciplinary approach combining mouse transgenesis with chemogenetics, in vivo fiber photometry, pharmacology, biochemistry, proteomics, histology, imaging, and rigorous behavior testing. Our long-term goal is to investigate molecular and cellular contributions to the nervous system function that underlie complex behavioral repertoire in animals.
